The SCPRA operates a local youth softball and baseball program, offering teams through the Chambersburg Suburban League (CSL) to help build a connection to the local community and the next generation of athletes (#FutureGreyhounds) and to foster skills and qualities that extend beyond the field of play. Being good teammates and better friends while loving Shippensburg.

Home games and practices are hosted at the iconic Shippensburg Memorial Park, dedicated in 1950 to pay respect to local war heroes and serve as a reminder of their love and dedication towards our community. Memorial Park is a pillar that represents commitment, sacrifice, and loyalty that was intended to be passed down to the younger audience — a true cornerstone of the foundation of what it means to be hometown proud. Memorial Park is where generations have learned to be a Greyhound!

There are currently 6 fields available for use at Shippensburg Memorial Park to accommodate our young boys and girls, included a remodeled Veterans Stadium. Being part of our CSL program helps engage residents with the park and forms a lifelong connection of growing-up playing where so much history exists. And, they get to do it in our traditional colors — donning the Maroon & Grey and sometimes sporting white and black variations as the next wave of Greyhounds!

We view this league as the feeder program in preparing area youth to be good athletes and be taught traits that help them develop into confident, strong, and hard working young men and women. Being involved in sports teaches valuable lessons, and our approach is maximize that with a sense of love and community — and most of all, by having fun in the process!

2026 Registration

We want you to be a part of what we are building

Registration for the Spring 2026 will open on January 5, 2026 — BUT, returning families can join the wait-list NOW and initiate an early-registration timeframe for extra benefits. Between now and Dec 31st if you commit to enrolling your child again for the upcoming season you get a $15.00 household credit applied to your RecDesk account once you complete the sign-up process upon the start of the new year.

What does this mean? Follow our registration link, join the wait-list, come January 1st enroll, and earn credit for a later use! *this only applies to families/players who have previously played in the CSL for Shippensburg (new players can enroll 1/5/26).

Timeline:

DEC 1, 2025 thru Dec 31, 2025 — join AN AGE division wait-lisT

Pledge you commitment to return to the CSL for 2026! The division will appear ‘FULL” for procedural purposes only (the age bracket is not full at this point and only is presented this way to allow for wait-listing). No payment is required at this time.

If you are a returning player from a past season — note: new players will have the opportunity to join the league when registration opens on January 5, 2026 — complete the process to appear on the wait-list then when the early-window comes to register (from 1/1/26 thru 1/4/26) a $15.00 household credit will be awarded back to your account after the enrollment is complete and the spot is secured with payment. (*The early-bird cost remains $100 — separated as $85 to play and $15 to count as a credit towards another use)

  • Those who add themselves to the wait-list during this period, then must complete enrollment between January 1, 2026 and January 4, 2026 to receive the credit. This gives a four (4) day registration period to those on the waitlist.

  • If you join the wait-list, but do not enroll during the four day period to receive the credit, you may still sign-up to play for the 2026 season — but would not get the $15.00 credit on your household account if done on January 5th or later.

  • There is no harm in joining the wait-list and not being a previous player; however, you would not qualify for the $15.00 household credit (and you won’t be able to enroll in the early four day period). It’s for returning players only.

January 1, 2026 thru january 4, 2026 — REGISTRATION OPENS EARLY to WAIT-LISTERS

Families/players who have previously played in the CSL for Shippensburg AND have used the December timeframe to join the wait-list will be given early access to register and secure a spot for the upcoming season.

This also comes with the added benefit of receiving a $15.00 credit, applied back to the household account for later use (as long as it’s redeemed in the 2026 calendar year). Below, learn more about even more extra perks that are available!

  • If you joined the waitlist from Dec 1st thru Dec 31st then you are eligible, as long as you’re a returning player

  • No payment is due until this timeframe begins. You’ll be given a four day period, via confirmation of approval by e-mail, to get online and complete the registration process — making you eligible for the credit and more bonuses.

  • Pay $100, play for $85! A $15.00 savings will be applied to your account (SEE BELOW: What is a household credit?).

January 5, 2026 — REGISTRATION OPENS online TO EVERYONE

Enroll to play for Shippensburg for the 2026 CSL season. An early-bird discount will apply for the first couple weeks of sign-ups and a regular registration fee will take effect towards the end of January.

Choose the corresponding age division, register for a spot and as the process continues we’ll build our network of district students — you’ll later be notified of the specifics on how teams shape up and the alignment for the upcoming season. Registration ends by the end of February, but may happen sooner so please don’t wait to get your child(ren) signed up to play.

  • Reminder: January 1st thru January 4th, timeline applies to returning players on wait-list to receive credit. As of January 5th, anyone on the waitlist that has not completed the process will not be eligible for the $15.00 household credit

  • You are only secured a spot once the registration process is entirely completed, being on the wait-list at any point does not guarantee placement on a team. Don’t wait to sign-up and contact us with any questions about whether it was done correctly.

  • The season usually begins with practice starting in mid-March and games taking place mid-April thru June. Additional opportunities may be available and we’re willing to explore tournaments or sanctioned events for players interested.

  • Important Dates: January 11th (raffle deadline) and January 25th (early-bird deadline)

What is a ‘household credit’?

This will serve as a $15.00 savings, returned to you for future use — and applied back to your RecDesk profile for use on another program during the 2026 calendar year. The household credit means that it does not have to be used on the child you are registering and would be available to anyone on the account (including parents). This credit would be able to be applied for any activity offered through our online software — which could be: programming at Furnace Run Nature Park, Fall Ball, craft classes, health and wellness, ect.

Join the wait-list as a returning player, complete the process of registering from January 1, 2026 thru January 4, 2026 and get $15.00 of the cost back to use later as appreciation for your loyalty to our vision and desire to be involved in this league at Memorial Park!

ANOTHER BONUS — RAFFLE!

If you enroll before January 12th (From January 1st thru January 11th) you’ll be entered into a raffle to win a new BAT!

  • If you are a new players who enrolls during that time (1/5 thru 1/11) — you will get 1 raffle ticket added! (1 total ticket)

  • If you are a returning player who enrolls during that time, but did not wait-list — you will have a 2nd raffle ticket added! (2 total tickets)

  • If you are a returning player who enrolls during that time, and you were also one of the players who joined the wait-list but didn’t sign up by January 4th (but do so from 1/5 thru 1/11) — you will get have a 2nd and 3rd raffle ticket added! (3 total tickets)

  • If you are a returning player who enrolls during that time, and you were also one of the players who joining the wait-list and signed-up by January 4th — you will get a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th raffle ticket added + 2 BONUS! (7 total tickets)

If you register to play after January 11th — beginning on January 12th or later you will not be eligible for any tickets into the drawing. More details on the specifics of when the drawing date and winner will be announced will be available soon.

Register Early and Save!

Roughly 14 Weeks of field-time (games/practices) for no more than $100/player with extra savings and added benefits possible. Cost includes uniform and all other associated fees. (when you register before January 26th)

* A processing fee of 3% will be charged as a separate transaction on your credit card bill, and will not appear on your final invoice. You will receive e-mail confirmation with invoice as well as have a record of payment on your profile. If you prefer to make a payment with cash/check you will need to come into the office to do so.

REFUND POLICY: Due to transaction and processing fees, and the overall impact of a roster spot being reserved, full refunds are not given should you decide to withdraw your child from participation after signing-up. If you withdraw within one (1) to three (3) days of registration a 75% refund will be issued and if you do so within four (4) to ten (10) days you will be given a 50% refund. After ten (10) days have elapsed there are no refunds given at all; which includes quitting during the season or deciding to play in another league instead. Be sure your child has time to be involved and can meet the coaches/team expectation for participation. The exception would be, if the SCPRA is not able to provide a team due to roster spots.
